Olivia's Cape

>> Monday, November 8, 2010

I love Olivia Palermo's cape while out shopping in New York City. It's By Malene Birger and looks so warm and cozy and so perfect for the upcoming winter!

Also, have you heard the news? That The City is not returning for a third season! So sad...but I guess there is only so much of the same drama they can show! Anyway, Olivia is making her mark in the modeling world. Her latest involvement with Mango, modeling with her model boyfriend, have everyone going crazy in the fashion blog world! I'm wondering if she's going to take over Scarlett Johansson's role as the brands' ambassador. But I guess we'll have to wait and see!

Vintage Rose Byrne

>> Monday, October 4, 2010

Rose Byrne is an absolutely stunning actress - and I'm not just saying that because once I was compared to her (haha I have no idea what that person was thinking - we do NOT look similar in any way!)! She has porcelain like skin and features and poses such grace and elegance.

These beautiful photos are from a photo shoot for the London Evening Night Standard newspaper, photographed by Nicole Nodland. She is wearing a variety of labels more notably: Chloe, Christian Dio and Topshop. Rose is promoting her latest film with Russel Brand, Get Him to the Greek.

Enjoy!

Blake Lively for Vogue

>> Monday, May 24, 2010

I hate her in Gossip Girl, but love her in real life. I think Blake Lively is naturally beautiful (except for in Gossip Girl where her boobies are always pushed out to phenomenal 'heights') and has a really down to earth personality (that I can understand from interviews). I guess she's been surrounded by the industry from a young age and has got her head around it all. But I guess I'll find out more if I go out and buy the June issue of Vogue, won't I? She totally has that 'California Cool' thing going for her!

The Factory Girl

You must know by now that Vanessa Paradis is Karl Lagerfeld's new muse. She has fronted Chanel's new Coco Cocoon and lipstick, Coco Rouge, ranges. Karl has captured Vanessa in a Andy Warhol - Edie Sedgwick-esque photoshoot. They are close, but I think Sienna Miller did a better job at Edie in the movie :)

In the Sun

>> Thursday, May 13, 2010

The weather is spectacular here in Kathmandu at the moment. Clear blue skies and warm winds (don't worry, I won't start on my "there's no beach" rant again), and it really is inspiring me to get out and do some active stuff in the sun. In the blogosphere, lots of European bloggers have recently been to a concert by She & Him, in which the intriguing Zooey Deschanel is the 'she'. I thought I'd listen to some of their stuff and get acquainted. I'm not sure if I love her or hate her, (definitely didn't love her/her character in 500 Days of Summer), and I'm still not sure what I think about She & Him's lolly-pop sound. But one thing I know for sure, is that this song is perfectly suited for today...

I love them ♥

I love them together!
Joshua Jackson and Diane Kruger at the Chanel Cruise S/S 10-11 show in St. Tropez. I'm still trying to forget about my teenage crush on JJ...

P.S. What do you think about my blog's new look? Like or dislike?

Mrs. O

>> Monday, May 3, 2010

I would just like to start the working week off with this...
Doesn't Michelle Obama look absolutely stunning in this vibrant red gown by Nepal's Prabal Gurung? She really was the belle of the ball at the White House Correspondents' Association Dinner in Washington DC on Saturday night.

If you want to keep track of what the First Lady wears, visit Mrs. O and that is where you will be in the know!
Now I also mentioned Prabal Gurung. And I'm oh, so proud of him. I'm not a Nepali, but after living in the country for nearly a year and a half, and seeing how it's slowly declining instead of going forward (that's a whole other development/social article in itself!), it's nice to see promising things coming out of Nepal. And the best part is that Prabal Gurung isn't ashamed of where he has come from, because he knows how important it has been in making him the designer he is today. His designs are classic, relevant, recession-proof, elegant, stunning, magnificent, I could name 100% adjectives to describe his dresses.

Anyway, if you want to know more about him and his down-to-earth persona, read this article my friend here in Kathmandu wrote for CNNGo...

Ahh... Olivia

>> Friday, April 16, 2010

Olivia Palermo seems to be popping up on all the best dressed lists lately. She just keeps hitting the nail on the head, and I love that she mixes label's like Topshop and Mango for us lowly un-rich people! :p

All I want

All I want in life is for Kristen Stewart to smile on the red carpet. Just once! Even just a slight rise in the corners of her mouth would make me happy. Perhaps this is the closest we'll ever get...

Oohh pretty dresses...

>> Thursday, March 11, 2010

I apologize for jumping on the Oscar bandwagon, but who can pass up looking at photos of celebs in beautiful dresses and not pick out who dressed the best!? Well, I know I can't, so let's say this post is for my own personal reference...

My absolute FAVOURITE was Zoe Saldana. I love the burst of colour and the ruffles, she looked stunning! Kudos to Givenchy. I found Rachel McAdams, Elie Saab floral dress refreshing amongst the stock of satin and silk gowns, maybe a bit casual for the Oscars, but still beautiful!
Loved Miley Cyrus's classic dress by Jenny PackmanZoe Kravitz is gorgeous channeling old Hollywood glamourAnd lastly, Sandra Bullock who I think is so deserving of her Oscar award. It has been long overdue for her and she really did a brilliant job in 'The Blind Side' (you must see it if you haven't!). My favourite actress since I watched Speed on the plane to Los Angeles when I was 7 years old.
Ok, and now because I love photos of celebrities relaxed and having fun: the Oscar after parties...

Move over Miranda!

>> Friday, February 12, 2010

I have a new favourite model. My personal hype about Miranda Kerr has died down and I've found a new model I love in town (sorry I just can't help to rhyme once I've started!). I love Jessica Hart! I love that she grew up in Melbourne and has a gap between her front teeth. She oozes Australian beach culture and just seems like a down to earth person, especially on her blog. It seems to be a common thing for models at the moment to release fashion lines, and I'm not super into the whole punk-rock-grunge-street thing, but I think Miss Hart has a good thing going on with General Pants. Smart lady! Anyways, I like her. She's cool (and not just because she's a Hart and my maiden surname is Hartmann, although that does give her extra cred!).By the way, FYI, my sister's-in-law went to school with Alyssa Sutherland who is now Australia's current/next big thing. Watch her!

Glamour Session

>> Tuesday, September 22, 2009

Scarlett red was definitely the stand out colour at the Emmy's on Sunday night with Hayden Panettiere, Blake Lively, and Australia's beloved Toni Collette looking fetching in their gorgeous flowing gowns.

Here are a few of my other faves, and doesn't Heidi Klum look GREAT! She almost makes me want to get pregnant if I will look as good as her...almost.
And across the seas in Australia, the prestigious Brownlow was held for the Australian Football League (AFL), which allowed the footballers' better halves to glamour up...
