I'm bringing it back!

Travel Feature Friday that is. Because I realised that I can't live without travel, you see. I've come to realise that as much as fashion and shopping is, seeing the world is a big part of my life and my personality.
So back to regular travel posts I go, I'm going to give you the stylish, the glamorous but also budget and backpacker just so we've got the whole range covered :)

Today: Stylish and Glamorous in Paris (just to get me inspired for my upcoming trip).

This is the beautiful Hôtel de Sers, located in central Paris in the 8th arrondissement, is has beautiful views of steeples and Parisien rooftops (from it's apartment suite anyway). Originally built in 1880, it has been recently renovated with a classic facade that has not lost the feel of the original mansion.

I love how despite it's columns, chandeliers, portraits of dead people (I'm sure) and red carpeted hallways, everything that has moved into the building is of modern and retro origin. The chairs, the tables and the cushions which are bright and flirty, make this place and interesting hotel to experience.

Prices range from US$730 to a striking $3,100! Je ne peux pas le croire! And that doesn't include breakfast!

What Should I Wear by Mango

>> Wednesday, April 28, 2010

I love, I love, I love everything this girl wears. To me, this is what a perfect day of 'what to wear' should be! Gosh, I really think I need to get back to my Spanish roots and move to Barcelona...

Jump in to swim

>> Tuesday, April 27, 2010

You should be finally feeling it by now (Northern Hemispherians), that breeze with a hint of dry heat in it. The feeling of needing to wear sandals or havaianas all the time, and also the pulling of your summer dresses to the front of your wardrobe. Do you know what that feeling is called? Summer fever! And I'm excited that I get to now swim in pools (don't remind me that there are no beaches in Nepal *sad face*), wear all my sandals I've accumulated over my summer holidays in Australia, and also wear brighter coloured nail polish! It's the small things I tell you! At the beginning of every summer season, I always look for a new bikini and here are some gold finds from Anthropologie...

Black + White

>> Monday, April 26, 2010

Last week I got bored of looking at my Twitter background and needed something inspirational and just plain pretty to look at. While in search of something I came across Sam Hessamian's black and white photography which I found to be so simple, but yet completely beautiful. There is not a lot of information on him out there, but nonetheless I think his photos speak for themselves...

Guess where I'm going...

>> Friday, April 23, 2010

In case you're still not sure...My wonderful, and very kind husband and I booked flights the other night to London! And I'm excited as I am when I walk into a Zara store (if you are a regular reader, you should know abotu this VERY VERY excited excitement that is happening!). We're planning on going in October via Dubai and Turkey, which has been at the top of my travel list for a while now. We still haven't concreted places to go in Europe but I know for sure that Paris will work it's way into our itinerary! Do you have any tips for places to stay visit in any of these places? Please do share :)

What's in yours?
EDIT: Just looking at the photo again made me realise how corporate everything in my bag looks! I'd just like to say that I didn't take out all the odd hair bands, tissues (clean!), paperclips and spare coins that are sitting in the bottom of my bag! Ha!

That magical number - 10,000

>> Tuesday, April 20, 2010

Oh lala! I checked my sitemeter today and noticed that I have had over 10,000 views on my blog! I cannot believe I missed such a momentous number because as of now it's on 10,688 views in about 7 months which is pretty cool for something I was sure would just be seen by me, myself, and well... I!

So.....let's celebrate! Cupcake? Pink balloon anyone? Pretty photographs?Images via weheartit

Everest Base Camp Trek

>> Saturday, April 17, 2010

So...I made it! After 14 days of walking, vomitting and diarrhea (sorry you had to hear it!) we finally reached Everest Base Camp/Kala Patthar. We reached about 5300m above sea level and I have to say that this trek was the most challenging thing I've ever had to do! I think I pushed my body to it's limit and and now sporting a more slim figure! But hey, I did it! I can now say I've been on the roof of the world and can tick Everest Base Camp off that almighty travel list :))

P.S. I am never walking for more than 7 days ever again, for the rest of my life!

Ahh... Olivia

>> Friday, April 16, 2010

Olivia Palermo seems to be popping up on all the best dressed lists lately. She just keeps hitting the nail on the head, and I love that she mixes label's like Topshop and Mango for us lowly un-rich people! :p

Mango Summer 2010

Now, I'm not her biggest fan, but Scarlett Johansson looks gorgeous (and very unlike herself) in Mango's Summer 2010 campaign.via Mango's Keep the Beat blog

Warm Tootsies

>> Wednesday, April 14, 2010

I'm back from trekking in the Himalayas for the past 14 days! But I'm going to go straight into it, I have to admit that as wonderful an experience it was, I missed my creature comforts - shopping most importantly!

So for all you South Hemispherians, here are some cute winter booties to keep your toes warm from Mou.

Tribal Spring

Loving these new pieces by Diane Von Furstenberg and Missoni that have just come into store at Net-a-Porter.

French Grazia

>> Monday, April 12, 2010

How funny is this publicity stunt by French Grazia Magazine? They brought pug-dog balloons to Paris Fashion Week to obtain l'attention! The Cool Hunter says it's referring to the chi-chi practice of carrying a lap-dog to such events. So random! And as always, the French girls look so chic doing it!via The Cool Hunter

Chanel sneaks

>> Friday, April 9, 2010

How crazy cool are these Chanel sneakers? They are so cute and I would wear them any day over the new clogs! Just saying...
