Bad Luck

Today I am wallowing in my sadness of having a killer cold and the fact that my dearest mama in Melbourne sent me a text message saying that her and my papa were shopping it up in Melbourne City and that they wished I was there...

My happiest memories as a child is of the three of us having a lazy Sunday, checking out all the shops and convincing my dad to use his credit card. Can't believe they are having one of those days when I'm not there (let's just forget the fact that that I am now married and an adult, and that even if I was there they wouldn't have invited me)!

Anyway, and just to top off my crappy day - General Pants send me an email saying that they are now stocking Sass & Bide! Of course they do this while I'm out of the country.

I know, I shouldn't complain about such superficial things when even worse things are happening around the world- I would know, I'm an aid worker! But just let me have this day to moan and complain and have my husband wait on me hand and foot.

Shoe Love

Yesterday I had a sick day at home (it turns out mum was always right about the running in the rain thing and catching a cold!) and surprised myself by not blogging. I seemed to take more comfort in sewing, cooking and staring mindlessly at the TV than wanting to surf the net.

But one thing that did jump out at me during my 10mins of checking emails was this Mike & Chris Horatio Sandal. I fell head over heels in love with them. Now when I fall in love with a pair of shoes, it's safe to say that you should stay out of my way! Pretty much nothing can get in the way of me and this shoe...

Ok, so maybe the fact that they don't have this shoe in my size in any online store, may get in the way of me and this shoe...

The Curious Case of Buttons

I am still reveling in excitement from my visit to the craft shop yesterday. I have always loved craft shops, in Australia and anywhere else in the world, but the only problem is that I never seem to have the time to sit down and indulge myself in the actual craft-making. At the craft shop I saw hand-twined pieces of rope, handmade paper, hand carved brass pendants, and my favourite: little buttons that looked like pieces from a tree trunk, buttons that were shaped into elephants, rhinos and jewels, some even with Buddha's face on them!

I realized that I really love buttons. Buttons on clothing can be a determining factor in my decision of purchase. And BIG buttons...well they sell me every time! So now I am going to buy a pack of these wooden style buttons to put on our wedding Thank You cards, just because I love buttons!
